Working from Umberto Eco’s 1995 article "Ur-Fascism", published in the New York Review of Books, this work explores one of his 14 stated elements "The cult of action for action’s sake."
The aim was to create an interactive installation that confronted the seduction of action without thought. A red button. A face. No instructions. When pressed, the button triggered violent hate speech and physically distorted the faces on screen, symbolizing the tangible harm caused by words. The piece served both as a social experiment and a reflection on how easily individuals can be lured into destructive behavior without reflection—mirroring how fascism thrives on unconsidered action.
